Cape Town – South African radio presenter, Mark Pilgrim has thanked the doctors and nurses taking care of him on his journey to recovery, following what he describes as “a rough couple of weeks”.
The media personality revealed recently in a social media post that his lung had collapsed.
In his latest post, he took the time to thank the medical staff and shared a snap from the doctor’s room while having fluid drained from his chest.
“To all the doctors and nurses helping me on the journey to recovery… thank you,” he wrote on his Instagram timeline.
It’s “been a rough couple of weeks and there’s still a few bumps. One day at a time. One foot in front of the other,” he continued.

But that hasn’t stopped the much-admired radio present from returning to his “happy place”.
Pilgrim returned to the Hot 1027 airwaves after a 2-week absence.
Despite all the health challenges, he chooses to keep a sense of humour.
“PS, I know the pic looks like a rectal exam… it was actually more lung drainage,” he wrote
The radio presenter was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer earlier this year.
