Cape Town – Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida has finally launched her much-anticipated children’s book, Shudu Finds her Magic, and it is expected to hit bookstores on Thursday.
“Shudu finds her magic is officially out! I’m so excited to announce that we’re launching the book today,” the beauty queen wrote on her Twitter account on Wednesday.
In the book, Musida tells the story of her upbringing, including how she was bullied at school by her classmates.

“In this courageous and beautiful book, Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida, tells the story of her upbringing; of a delightful and outgoing girl in Ha-Vhangani, a small Venda village. She is surrounded by a loving extended family. However, things for Shudu take a turn for the worse when she moves to Mpumalanga to live with her mom. At her new school, Shudu is bullied by her classmates.,” a statement said.

Musida also tells of how she overcame her sadness and challenges as grew into an adult, who has learnt to love herself.
“The one lesson I learnt is that when something bad is happening to you it is important to speak to an adult that you trust about it. This could be a parent, a family member, a teacher or an elder. Remember that being bullied is not your fault. There is nothing wrong with you. Nobody should have to go through what I went through,” said Musida.
The book was published in partnership with Miss South Africa, a leadership platform for ambitious young South African women.
“For every book sold one will be donated to one will be donated to Childline South Africa and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) who help children with issues like bullying and depression,” Musinda said.

Shudu Finds Her Magic is available in Afrikaans (Shudu Vind Haar Sprankel), English (Shudu Finds Her Magic), Sesotho (Shudu O Sibolla Boikgetho ba hae), Venda (Shudu u wana Vhuṱolo Hawe), isiXhosa (uShudu u Fumanisa ukuba UnoMlingo) and isiZulu (uShudu Uthola Umlingo Wakhe).
According to IOL, Musida has chosen her book as part of her Beauty with a Purpose project for Miss World 2021.
“As the reigning Miss South Africa 2020, she will be participating in the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” the report said.
