Cape Town – Fans of South African Gqom queen Babes Wodumo are waiting in breathless anticipation after she announced that she’s set to release not one, but two new albums.
The music star revealed on her social media that she would not only be releasing her own album, but also the last album of her late husband, Mampintsha.
Mampintsha died in December 2022 after he suffered a stroke. He managed to complete his album on time and Babes is set to release it in his honour.
“We recorded both our albums sawaqeda womabili but didn’t release cause we were letting BIG NUZ release 1st.When we were done out of the blue you requested senze lengoma little did I know it was the last song we did together. Mampintsha’s last prayer”Ngithethelele”

Babes recently made headlines when she was reported to be critically ill after she missed several gigs, including Cotton Fest and the Durban July.
She addressed the rumours of her absence and her management team confirmed that she was not ill but was booked outside the country and had to miss the events scheduled for the first two weekends of July, The South African wrote.
“Babes Wodumo is in great health. Maybe her silence on social media is why they are assuming she is not well. She is currently busy with two albums, her own and Mampintshas,” Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane said.
