Cape Town – South Africa’s Gqom sensation Babes Wodumo has an exciting 2023 planned as she returns to the studio to start making music again.
According to TimesLIVE, Wodumo is “cooking up something in studio”. Music producer DJ Nkazimulo “TNS” Ngema took to his Facebook timeline to reveal that Wodumo is working on her new album which is set to be released later this year.
“In Studio w/ IDandokazi Babes Wodumo Recording Her 2023 Album,” he wrote.
Babes revealed that she and former husband Mampintsha were always tied at the hip and that they always made music together. She told TimesLIVE a few years ago why she foudn Mampintsha was the “perfect” person to collaborate with.
“Mampintsha is the only one who understands me and the type of gqom I make. Mampintsha understands me and that’s why we make great music together, we are able to communicate properly.
“Also a lot of artists don’t really understand gqom, so I don’t want a situation where I feature people that will make my songs lame or drain my vibe. However, I do most of the singing on the songs and I also feature on songs from his album,” Babes said.
It will be exciting to see how Babes Wodumo’s latest project turns out and fans will be waiting in angst for the Queen of Gqom’s return.
