Cape Town – South African rapper AKA recently saw his dream of wanting to be an Idols SA judge dashed when it was announced that the show’s upcoming 19th season would be its last.
Idols SA took to Twitter to confirm this week that the show was coming to an end after 18 successful seasons.

According to TimesLIVE, Shirley Adonis, the director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net said: “The international-format talent-search competition has been a stage of opportunities where many careers were launched and we would like to thank the crew, on-air talent and sponsors for their contribution to its success over the years. We look forward to an epic final season and will continue to secure and produce the best content, which Mzansi Magic viewers have come to enjoy.”
Following the announcement, AKA took to Twitter to reveal that he would have liked to add the role of Idols SA judge to his CV.
“I should have been a judge on Idols SA *sigh* … I always wanted that,” he wrote in one tweet.
He followed that up with: “Masters of Rhythm, The Hustle … Idols … that would have been nice.”
