Cape Town — The police have provided an update on the ongoing investigation into AKA’s murder although no arrests have been made so far.
KZN police spokesperson Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi confirmed in a media briefing that police have positively identified the gun that was used in the rapper’s murder.
“We have identified a couple of vehicles that were used, some vehicles that were used as getaways, some vehicles that were sued as porters and some vehicles that were used by people after the fact, we suspect they are a suspect in this regard. We have identified one firearm that has been used and positively identified to have shot and killed Mr. Forbes.”
Mkhwanazi also said that SAPS has identified suspects and will up discussions with the NPA to possibly bring the them in for questioning.

Mkhwanazi said the investigation team has also collected cellphone and data from those who were, and were not present at the scene of the crime, The South African said.
“The team has already started with more than 6 TB of data. We downloaded more than 25 cell phones as we speak, and the team is analysing every communication and data in those phones. It’s all from people of interest that might contain information. Cell phones of people who might have been in the area or might have communicated with the deceased. Or any other people associated with the deceased,” he said.
