Cape Town — AKA continues to cement his legacy, eight months after his passing. The former music star bagged an award at the lucrative DSTV content creator awards.
The DSTV Content Creator Awards is a platform created to give credit to some of South Africa’s content creators across the board. Influencers, people, agencies and brands at the forefront of popular culture and content creation are recognised by the Content Creator Awards, The South African reported.
AKA, who was not able to see the success of his album, Mass Country, scooped an award at the show, as his hit song with Nasty C titled Lemons (Lemonade) won the Song of the Year Award.
AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes, accepted the award on behalf of him and thanked the Megacy for their support to him and the family.
“I don’t actually know where to start. This award, Kiernan was an amazing creative but this room is filled with amazing creatives and I wouldn’t hold this if you didn’t use the song and if you didn’t make it trend and use it in your content so thank you all for having me stand here tonight and take this in honour of my son,” she said.
