Cape Town — Lynn Forbes has started a new venture in her life by starting her own podcast called Outspoken Owls alongside her close friend Katie Mohamed.
She has endured a difficult year as she dealt with the loss of her son, AKA, in February this year and has been a figure of strength for her family.
Lynn launched her new podcast alongside Katie.
The two use their personal experiences and journeys to cultivate genuine and honest conversations on navigating life as a middle-aged woman, The South African wrote.
Lynn and Katie are challenging the status quo by practicing vulnerability and liberation, asking for help and putting themselves first.
She said middle age became a defining trait of who she was.
“I realised when people talk about ‘middle age’, middle age is not 50 it actually starts at 40. And as woman you become so defined by society. And because we’re in this defined middle, we’re constantly fighting body issues and menopause.”

“I believe in ageing gracefully with purpose. I want to be here for a long time and make sure there’s a positive experience for as long as I can, so I need to do the right things. I need to make sure I’m fit.
“I believe the things I do have to be what speaks to me, and self-care is important to me, which includes wellness and soul care, which is that I am deserving of all the things I do in taking care of myself and having a good quality of life for as long as I can,” she said.
