Cape Town — South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo had big news for his fans as he revealed he’s returning to school at 50-years old.
Somizi has gained fame for his flamboyant and outgoing personality and expresses himself through his glamourous hair, outfits and makeups.
He’s also never shy to speak his opinion.
According to Sunday World, he dropped out of school in Grade 9 because he believed it would stop him from achieving his dreams but added that it is never too late for anyone to go back to school.
“I have always believed in the value of education even though in my case the opportunities of work when still very young put me on a different path as far as formal school is concerned,” he said.

“But dropping out that early did not stop me from educating myself about anything that became part of my professional life,” he added.
Confirmed reports indicate that Somizi has officially enrolled in a fashion design course, The South African reported.
He has openly emphasized that one can pursue education at any age, underlining the value of continuous learning, the report said.
Somizi shot to fame at 15 when he starred in Scavengers in 1987.
Since then, he has been winning big and spreading his wings. He has back-established himself as a businessman in his own right.
He launched his new fashion line called Sompire Kids, a fashion line aimed at kids aged 2-12 years old. The project has been described by Somizi as a dream come true, and its success is awaited with anticipation.
