Cape Town – Blood & Water actress Greteli de Swardt has reflected on touching events during her first year of marriage and on her and her partner’s eventful wedding day.
Greteli took to Instagram to share the story of the events that transpired after their ceremony – events that she described as “wacky, wild, wonderful”.
“A year of being your wife, and oh what a wacky, wild, wonderful ride it’s been,” she wrote.
“Things are happening so fast, I struggle to process them! It feels like I’m only starting to process our wedding day now,” she added.
As well as uploading pictures of her special day for her followers to gush over, Greteli revealed the post-ceremony events in numerical order.
“1.) Right after our ceremony we went to take pictures in the streets of Stellenbosch. We both knew we wanted wedding photos where we had actual memories. It might not be that aesthetic as the pretty ones in fields ect, but it really speaks to both of us when looking back at them. ?
“2.) Our first stop was ‘Rome in a Bite’, one of our favourite restaurants in Stellenbosch. Many memories were made here. ?
“3.)We asked if we can have an old slice of leftover pizza just for the photo’s & it turned out to be the best slice of pizza we’ve ever had. ?
“4.) Next, Juan took me to our new apartment. We knew we didn’t want to be anywhere else for our first night of being a married couple. We couldn’t wait to move in. Our apartment wasn’t quite ready yet, though. The owners were still building & I was under the impression we would only be able to settle in after honeymoon. Juan told me he just wanted to take a few pictures on the veranda. ?
“5.)As we entered the flat, the incredibly special & kind owner was there with a team of people running around to get the apartment ready for us. I cried my heart out. Juan organised the most special surprise ever. They finished up the last building work, cleaned the place, and left flowers & chocolates everywhere. I was SOBBING! ?
“6.) My tears eventually dried up, but not my dress, haha! It was raining cats & dogs & we embraced every moment of it! My hair was ‘gekroes’ & my dress full of mud! I loved it! ☔️
“7.) Next we got an ice cream at ‘de Vrije Burger’, also one of our favourites. ?
“8.) Mr & mrs de Swardt! ?
“9.) An intimate, candlelit dinner & celebration evening with our closest. Just how we wanted it. ?️
“10.) Our beautiful table in the garden where Juan grew up. Thank you to my parents in law.”
