Cape Town – Reigning Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane had to cancel a trip she was meant to go on on Thursday morning due to “health concerns”.
Mswane was meant to embark on a trip to Ivory Coast in what would have been a “historical first visit” for a Miss Supranational beauty queen, News24 reported.
Mswane also took to Twitter to reveal she wasn’t feeling very well and asked: “Is this still just flu?”

Taking to its official Instagram page, the Miss Supranational Organisation offered apologies to the Ivory Coast for the unfortunate events and said:
“After a consultation with her doctor, Lalela Mswane has had to call off her trip to Côte d’Ivoire due to health concerns. Ms. Mswane was advised not to travel as she recovers from bronchitis.
“The Miss Supranational Organisation would like to offer our most sincere apologies to the management, staff and sponsors of @supranationalci as well as the people of #cotedivoire – all parties involved were looking forward to this visit.
We understand the effort, planning and heart that went into organising this visit and we are saddened by this unfortunate turn of events.”

Mswane’s cancelled trip comes nearly two weeks after she served as a judge on the panel for the 2023 Mister Supranational South Africa.
Tylo Ribeiro, 30, from Pretoria was crowned in a glitzy event on Saturday, 22 April. He will compete internationally at the Mister Supranational global contest set to be held in Poland on 15 July.
