Cape Town – Sol Phenduka recently took to social media to let his fans know that he will be starting a weight-loss journey.
Sol is a radio presenter for Kaya959 and the host of the “Podcast and Chill” podcast.
He decided he wanted to pursue a healthier lifestyle and said he is going to dedicate the net five months of his life to living healthier and losing weight.
“About to embark on this weighloss journey again . In 5 months time please ningathi ngiyasika. It’s deliberate. #MORELIFE #HEALTHISWEALTH,” he said.
He received a mix of comments on Instagram, with some applauding him for his decision while others felt he was losing his identity by losing weight.
“Do what you gotta do for your personal health bro, after all you don’t owe no explanation to anybody,” @sibusisoshezi_m said.
“All the best. Be warned, a slim or fit Sol might not have a similar reception as plus size Sol. But nevertheless it’s for your own health,” @smangaliso_sobhuza commented.
“Being Chubby is part of your trademark don’t ruin it,” @salibogoatsiloane said.

He jokingly posted a picture on Twitter of him at an event, saying even men are hitting on him now.
“My weight loss is coming along nicely. Even men are grabbing on me. SMH,” he wrote.
In response to the tweet, a fan asked Sol if he was insecure about his body and his weight and whether that was the reason for deciding to lose weight. And he replied, saying that he felt being obese was very unhealhty and he didn’t want to die from poor lifestyle choices.

I don’t feel insecure ,. Being overly obese is unhealthy . I have a 4 year old daughter . I don’t want to die coz of lifestyle choices and things I can avoid . I need at least 30 more years on this earth . This body is the only 1 I have .
