Cape Town – Gauteng pastor Siva Moodley was finally laid to his resting place after being at the mortuary for more than 570 days following his death.
Moodley, 53, died on August 15 in 2021 but his remains were kept at Martin’s Funeral Home as his family awaited his “resurrection”.
Pictures of the funeral ceremony circulated on social media.
The founder of The Miracle Centre was buried on Thursday, reports said.
According to the manager of the funeral home Martin du Toit, the pastor’s family and members of the church used to visit the funeral home to pray for his resurrection, reported IOL.
Du Toit said he had lodged an application with the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court to grant him permission to have Moodley buried or cremated, the report said.
Meanwhile, The South African reported that his church has not acknowledged his death on their social media platforms.
Moodley’s social media accounts are operational with tweets posted daily as if they are from Moodley, the report said.
