Cape Town — South African taxpayers will pay more than they had bargained for owing to the addition of two new ministers to the president’s cabinet.
The president announced the two new appointments during his cabinet reshuffle.
Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is the new Minister in the Presidency responsible for Electricity. He is faced with the monumental and immediate task of ending load shedding.
Maropene Ramokgopa is the new Minister in the Presidency with specific responsibility for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation and will focus greater attention on government performance.

According to the 2019 Guide for Members of the executive committee, the ministers will enjoy multiple benefits, including ministerial staff, a household aide, VIP drivers and protectors, and official motor vehicles.
Taxpayers already pay about R20 million for each minister every year, including perks, The Citizen, reported.
With the addition of two new ministers, South Africans will probably have to fork out a total of R600 million per year for ministerial packages.
