Kwazulu-Natal – After a man discovered an injured monkey on his property located in Southridge, KZN, the Vervet monkey was rescued and taken into the appropriate care.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a resident of Primrose Drive in Southridge contacted RUSA requesting assistance after he discovered the injured monkey on his property on Saturday morning.
Upon arrival, RUSA Members discovered the injured baby Vervet monkey on the driveway.
“Its legs and pelvis appeared fractured. He also sustained a laceration below his neck. Officers transported the injured monkey to RUSA HQ,” RUSA said in a statement.
It added that the monkey will be handed over to an organisation that specialises in rescuing injured Vervet monkeys.
