Cape Town – One person died after a light aircraft crashed in Johannesburg close to the N14 highway on Wednesday morning.
According to Emer-G-Med paramedics, the aircraft crashed in the Knoppieslaagte area adjacent to the N14.
“On arrival on scene a light fixed wing aircraft was found to have crashed into a river. The pilot who was the only occupant of the aircraft was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” Emer-G said in a statement.

The scene was secured and handed over to the police and Civil Aviation Authorities for further investigation and processing, read the statement.
Last month one person also died when an aircraft crashed on a farm in Steelpoort next to Mbombela Airport, Mpumalanga.
It was reported that the deceased was the pilot, who was the only occupant of the aircraft,
The departure and destination of the aircraft remained unknown at the time of publication.
