South Africa’s insurance industry is keeping pace with the warp-speed development of new technology – introducing a fully digital product targeted specifically at drone operators.
UK-based business-to-business e-commerce insurer and fintech platform, Briisk Limited, has developed the necessary technology to make the fully digital service a reality, according to IT News Africa.
Drone Covered, the first-to-market insurance, will cost less than ZAR50 a month and is underwritten by Transact and Protect Insure (TPI), insured by Mutual and Federal Risk Finance and supported by Briisk’s Instant Transaction Platform.
CEO Hanno van Aarde says Briisk’s core technology, which is based on entity management, will help ‘digitise the insurance and financial services market, and accelerate access to online marketplaces, to the point where anyone can sell or buy a financial service seamlessly’.
