Cape Town – A Mamelodi mother is reportedly pleading for the safe return of her child following the baby’s kidnapping earlier last month.
Reports said Nomsa Khoza, 26, allegedly gave her then four -day-old baby, Milton Illdio Khoza, to a woman to hold but the woman disappeared with the child.
The infant was kidnapped on January 17 at the Tshwane regional mall, reported Pretoria Rekord.
“According to the victim, the suspect asked her to accompany the suspect to the Tshwane regional mall in Mamelodi as the suspect wanted to buy clothes for her unborn baby,” the report quoted Shibambo as saying.
Shibambo said the two took a taxi to the mall where the suspect asked the mother to find a security guard who could make a Money Market withdrawal for her as she didn’t have an ID.

“The mother left the baby with the suspect and when she returned, the woman was gone with her baby,” the report quoted Shibambo as saying.
On Wednesday, Khoza recounted her three hours frantic search for her baby and pleaded with the country to help, reports TimeLIVE.
“I went to different stores looking for the woman and even walked to Denlyn Mall, asking people if they saw her with my child. I met a security guard who said she had seen the woman. That is when it dawned on me that my child had been stolen from me by a person I thought I was helping,” the report quoted Khoza as saying.
Now, 22 days since the kidnapping, Khoza says she hasn’t been able to sleep, the report said.
“I want nothing more than getting my child back. I would be very happy if she can bring back my baby, even if she leaves him at a police station or somewhere where we can find him,” Khoza was quoted as saying in the report.
Police urged members of the community with information to call the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
