Cape Town – Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has hit back at South Africa’s Nasty C in his new diss track.
Nasty C laid his heart bare in his single No Big Deal in November, where he spoke about his long-standing ‘beef’ with A-Reece and why he has never worked with Sarkodie.
In the first verse of the song, Nasty C says: “When I first met Sarkodie, he wouldn’t shake my hand, cool. I’m not too proud to say but am still a fan.”
He then says later in the verse that he declined two offers to work with Sarkodie and made up poor excuses just to get out of collaborating with him.
“Two requests over the years and I declined them both. I just make up some dumb excuse like; I’m in album mode. But looking back on that today, I was in coward mode,” the lyrics say.
Sarkodie recently responded to Nasty C’s claims in a track titled ‘Landlord’ saying he never reached out to him for work but had no qualms about the rapper.
“I ain’t gotta (have to) shake your hand so you can walk out. And so you know it’s not me, you fighting your own ego maybe a couple of things you gotta sort out.
“I never reached out homie but I know what you doing, such a smart ass touching the God is part of the plan,” he rapped on the track.
While it appears as if the two rappers have a sort of mutual respect for each other and their talent, it is no secret that their two songs are aimed at each other.
