Cape Town – South African music star Heavy K has spoken out against the backlash fellow musician Kabza Da Small has received, likening it to the same sort of treatment he endured during his prime time, saying he feels his legacy has been disrespected.
Heavy K took to Twitter with a number of tweets, saying that many talented artists get compared to every new artist on the block.
“What they doing to Kabza is the same thing they did to me during my prime! I knew it would happen being a hitmaker. Consistency irritates some of our people so much that they compare you to each and every artist that rises!,” he wrote.

He continued to say that he had made a big name for himself by making unique music and doing his own thing.
I was exactly who I think was! What y’all forgetting I came with my own unique sound! that nobody could master! Even today I’m still the only one who has the recipe! I influenced the entire game! I changed the direction of the game! & sold platinums with CD’s https://t.co/kWNnSrA3c7

If I was that obsessed to be on top & chasing trends, I could have had young boys by now working 24/7 in the studio, I just go in there & rename all those songs as Heavy-K! But I always chose the hard way which is making my own music 100% or collaborate with the youngings.

Heavy K has every right to feel as though he’s been disrespected by fans as he pointed out that he’s worked with internationally-renowned artists and DJs including Ed Sheeran and Jorja Smith.
“Last year literally I got to work with Ed Sheeran & Jorja Smith but never heard me making noise!” he said in his tweet.
Last year literally I got to work with Ed Sheeran & Jorja Smith but never heard me making noise! Bcs I’m not the Khuluma kakhulu type! The same naysayers they will be claiming me not long from now when starting seeing me getting all the Lové & validation internationally.???
