Free State – Social media was set alight after CCTV footage of the alleged racist incident that took place at the Maselspoort Resort & Conference Centre revealed white people climbing out of the pool as the black boys got in to swim.
From the footage, it was apparent to viewers that initially, every person in the pool was white.
The video, which at the time of writing had garnered over 8 million views, further revealed that the boys had been refused entry by a white man at the gate. When the boys forced their way into the pool, the white people could be seen climbing out of it and making their way out of the pool area.
Thereafter, the boys were attacked after they seemed to have refused to get out of the pool.

Twitter users responded to the tweet expressing their anger at what had taken place.
As a white South African I cannot begin to say how much this infuriates me. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of behaviour, and the perpetrators should face the full extent of the law.

The footage makes it patently clear what happened. And rubbishes the “alternative” version put forward by right wing activists.

Exactly. That little boy who just wanted to keep on swimming with his pool noodle will be taught to hate. ?

Police released a statement in which it was confirmed that the three white suspects who had assaulted the two black boys were arrested.
Speaking to News24, one of the teenagers that were attacked, Kgokong Nakedi, said that he felt that if it were not for the presence of cameras and his parents, he “would not be alive today”.
“It all happened so quickly. That 30 seconds didn’t feel like 30 seconds,” he said.
“If my parents weren’t here, my family weren’t here, I don’t think that 30 seconds I would have come out alive.”
“If I was here alone and I didn’t call my parents, I don’t think I would’ve been alive today,” Kgokong added.
