Cape Town – Members of Azanian People’s Organisation reportedly picketed outside an estate where Belinda Magor is believed to reside in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg on Monday.
Magor, 60, was arrested over the weekend after a Whatsapp voice message circulated on social media seeming to call for black people in South Africa to be killed and banned instead of pitbulls.
Police said in a statement on Saturday they were investigating “a case of crimen injuria”, or wilful injury to a person’s dignity by the use of racially offensive language.
“The suspect aged 60 years old was arrested and released the same day on a warning,” police said.

She will appear in court next March.
The voice message followed a call from some South Africans to ban pitbulls following a rise in cases reported where the dogs had mauled people, particularly children.
According to The Citizen, Azapo Deputy President Kekeletso Khena said the next time someone uttered a racist outburst, they would hunt them down and make sure they were deported.
“We will come to your house, we will come to your company and we will drag you with your hair and take you to the airport. We are tired of the racism and it is completely uncalled for.
“These people need to know that this is our country and they found us here. If they do not like us being here then they must take their children and leave our country. You come into our land, you steal our land and resources, and then you treat us in the manner that you have,” the report quoted Khena as saying.

The party said that the woman should also be charged with inciting genocide, inciting violence against black people and hate speech, EWN reported.
Khena said that Migor being let off with a warning was unacceptable.
“When we went to open the case on Friday, they didn’t quite understand what it is that we were trying to say, did it seem like is it a case we were willing to open. They’ve assigned an investigative officer to see the case forward. We are looking forward to another arrest,” Khena said, as per the report.
Unapologetic Racists with their unprovoked rant are a disgrace. If you agree sign the AZAPO petition below. AZAPO has led by example by laying criminal charges against someone who insulted, disrespected and demeaned black women and black people in general.

Meawhile, according to SABC, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has described Magor’s utterances as horrific and deplorable.
“The content of the voice note is horrific and deplorable. It no doubt constitutes prima facie hate speech of the most appalling kind and as a result the commission’s Gauteng office will send a letter of demand to the respondent. Based on her response, the commission will decide on the next step. It usually includes sensitisation training that she has to undergo as well as community service and so on. So, I am expecting the letter of demand to include that,” the report quoted SA Human Rights Commissioner Andre Gaum as saying.
