Cape Town – Discovery Channel and Youtube Wildlife presenter Dingo Dinkelman, recently put to the test the bravery of e-hailing taxi drivers, as he requested a ride with his green anaconda.
This proved to be an adventurous mission, as one driver ran from his vehicle when the snake got loose, while another driver attempted to abort the trip in reverse.
The R35 ride from Hillcrest to Waterfall was accepted by one driver, Nkanyiso Sithole, who had no idea the passenger was in the company of the huge snake.
Sithole thought that the trip would be “quick and easy” because he was already in the area.
He, however, realised that the trip would not be easy, as he spotted Dinkelman already waiting for him with a massive green anaconda around his neck.
He immediately tried to reverse the car so that he could drive off but Dinkelman kept shouting for him to stop, pleading with him to give him a ride and asuring him that the snake won’t bite him.
Scared and hesitant, Sithole eventually agreed to give the man and his snake a ride.
He was nervous during the entire trip. He kept looking back at the snake, screaming and jumping as the snake moved closer to him.
He was, however, glad in the end that he overcame his fear for snakes.
“This is what this is about, giving people an experience they’ve never had before,” said Dingo as one driver had other drivers come to witness his unusual passengers.
During the trips, Dingo educated the drivers about the snake and by the time the trip ended, all three drivers who were put to the test appeared a little calmer around the snake even touching it.
