Cape Town – Eastern Cape detectives have opened investigations after a couple and their three children died in a fire that brought down a Methodist church mission house in the Eastern Cape.
Residents alerted the police to the fire in Askeaton, near Cala on Thursday but the house had already burned down when police and firefighters responded, police said in a statement.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said the police arrived and found the alleged house wrapped in a blaze with members of the family inside.
He said the family had already died inside the house when the firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze
