Cape Town – An Eastern Cape teacher reportedly appeared in the EmaXesibeni Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for raping and impregnating two pupils at the school he worked at.
Reports alleged the 26-year-old teacher worked at Ntsizwa High School, where both victims aged 18 and 19 attended.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Luxolo Tyali, the rape allegedly took place between May and June 2022, reported IOL.
“It is alleged that between May and June 2022, the accused had sexual intercourse with the victims who are in matric, without their consent,

“He would allegedly lure the victims to the strong room, lock it from the inside, overpower them, rape them, and threaten them if they told anyone,” said Tyali.
Both learners allegedly told their classmates. However, the suspect was only arrested on October 25, reported The South African.
This was after the victims told their parents and both discovered they were pregnant.
The report added that the teacher was charged with two counts of rape.
The case was postponed to November 4, with the teacher expected to make a formal bail application.
