Cape Town – The National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) has launched an intensive investigation after a TikTok ‘comedian’ uploaded a video in which he is seen slapping four donkeys, it confirmed in a statement.
“The NSPCA launched an intensive investigation into the abuse of donkeys seen on a Tik-Tok video. In the video, an ‘actor/musician’ is seen brutally slapping and terrorising four donkeys- apparently in an attempt to create humorous content for his viewers,” the statement read.
“With nothing but his nickname, the NSPCA launched an intensive investigation to find the donkeys and the abuser himself,” it added.
The donkeys were found in a village in Limpopo by the NSPCA who then removed all four donkeys and took them to a place of safety where they are being taken care of.
“These donkeys will never again face the hand of an abuser under the protection of the NSPCA,” the statement read.

The largest and oldest animal welfare organisation in South Africa said that the abuser was not present when the donkeys were found but still applied for a warrant of arrest.
“The NSPCA refused to accept the possibility of the abuser getting away with his crimes and applied for a warrant of arrest which was granted by the Courts. The NSPCA has also laid criminal charges against the abuser in terms of the Animals Protection Act no 71 of 1962,” the organisation said.
“The NSPCA has confidence that he will be apprehended soon and brought before the Courts to answer for his reprehensible actions.
“This abuser has not only deliberately harmed the donkeys, he has also disrespected the people who depend donkeys for survival and he has portrayed South Africans in a negative light to the rest of the world,” it added.
The organisation also said that it remains committed to ensuring that animal abusers face the full might of the law.
