Cape Town – South African award-winning singer, Zahara has come out guns blazing, as she defended her performance at the Macufe Lifestyle Divas Show in Bloemfontein, following social media backlash.
The Loliwe singer topped Twitter trends over the weekend, with tweeps trolling her for the bad performance.
This was after a video of the singer’s performance, which she claimed had been edited went viral on social media on Saturday.
Taking to her Twitter timeline to defend herself, Zahara shared another version of the video of her performance and urged social media users to “stop this nonsense”.
“Don’t edit things to put me down. God is good all the time. Stop this nonsense,” she captioned the video.

A Twitter user, who seemingly shared the initial video, responded, saying that the video was part of the singer’s Facebook live performance.
“Why would I go out of my way to lie about you. The video I posted was from a Facebook live, meaning that there’s no way it could have been edited. This 15 secs clip still proves me right. I dare you now to tweet your whole performance!,” she wrote.

Tweeps reacted, suggesting the singer’s career was going to ruins. Others, however, stood by Zahara, saying they had witnessed her live performance and shared other videos of her performance.
Some urged the singer to focus on her career and ignore negative comments.

Even if it was edited, why would those edits only come for her voice? The back up singers and the band are doing pretty good back there.

I’m not here for the insults. If you really do love her, you’ll tell her the truth. She’s killing her beautiful career ?
