Cape Town – In a segment of Between the Scenes that The Daily Show shared on social media, Trevor Noah reflected on what he missed doing most over the past seven years and what he looks forward to doing when his chapter with the show concludes.
“What have you missed out on doing for the last seven years that you’re looking forward to doing,” someone in the audience asked.
Trevor revealed right after the question that he didn’t think of the last seven years as one time period.
He categorised the periods over the past seven years. The first period was when he just started hosting The Daily Show, taking over from Jon Stewart which was, according to Trevor, “insanely difficult”.
The Trump years that followed were another period in Trevor’s journey. That was followed by the Covid period. According to Trevor, the coming out of covid was another period in itself.
“For me in a weird way, I feel like I’ve been on four different Daily Shows,” said Trevor.
“I’m looking forward to living a little more, expressing a little more, growing a little more, and trying new things.” @TrevorNoah on what’s next for him after The Daily Show. #BetweenTheScenes pic.twitter.com/djsQkhP4Nb

Trevor revealed that the things he missed affected him most during the pandemic.
“I missed people. I missed two years of people’s lives, I missed two years of eating food in South Africa, I missed two years of travelling with my family and friends,” he said.
“There’s one thing if you never get back, and that’s time,” the South African comedian added.
“What I really lost during that 7 years was time,” he said.
“Because of that, I now find myself excited at getting back to doing a few of the things I did around the world which I really loved,” added Trevor.
