Joburg – South African petrolheads are mourning the death of the popular mechanic and owner of Sportech Cars, Chad Wentzel, who died after allegedly being beaten with a hammer on Monday.
According to The Citizen, details surrounding Wentzel’s death remained unclear.
However, it was reported that the car enthusiast was attacked by a member of his staff in his workshop located in Longmeadow Business Estate in Modderfontein, Johannesburg.

News24 quoted Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello as saying that police had since opened a case of murder.
Sello said no arrests had been made after the suspect fled the scene of the crime.
As the investigations continued, friends and peers of Wentzel expressed their shock and sent their condolences.
