Cape Town – Fans and supporters of South African Gqom star, Babes Wodumo, are concerned about her health after pictures of her circulated on social media over the weekend.
It is said that Babes was visiting the UKhozi FM studio but her fans were not impressed by how she looked and were especially concerned by her weight loss.
In the pictures, the Wololo Wololo singer is seen wearing a beige leather jacket with a matching leather skirt.
Shortly after the pictures surfaced, social media users pulled some of the old singer’s pictures and compared them to how she looks now.
Responding to the concerned fans in a post, the singer said she was hurt by how women were making fun of her weight loss and stated that her body was still recovering after giving birth.

“I lost weight during my pregnancy after birth I lost more. It hurts when I see women making fun of my weight, I don’t know if they want me to hate the soul I brought into this world. I don’t understand what is different about me or is it because I’m a celebrity or because I’m a young woman who is finding her feet at being a mother,” she said.
She added that some were quick to think she was sick or taking drugs.
“Some are so quick to judge, saying that I’m sick and I must get help or I’m taking drugs, only because I gave birth and my body is still recovering. I was not surprised by my weight loss because my sister went through the same thing and my friends have also experienced weight loss. So I don’t stress about it, I make sure I go work regardless of what people think because I’m working for my child and family,” read Babes’ response.

Her hubby, Mandla “Mampitsha” Maphumulo also expressed his irritation with people who kept asking what happened to the “old Mampitsha”.
Although the Gqom artist said he didn’t like “idom kop” he tried to explain himself in a video shared on his Instagram page.
“Other people are crazy others are fine, I’m not fond of idom kop, how can you say to me you miss the old Mampintsha, so you don’t grow up? People grow up you can’t remain being one thing so stop it. I won’t answer idom kop. So please stop it guys. Imagine asking me where is the old Mampintsha? Then it means he’s at the zoo,” he said.

“Even when you see a picture of yourself from when you were young, you won’t like it because you’ve grown. No guys, please hay,” said Mampintsha.
The couple recently confirmed they were trying to make things right and unite their families in the first episode of season two of Uthando Lodumo.
