Cape Town – Twitter was abuzz on Thursday, September 1, also known as Spring Day, when a mysterious man, bought bottles of alcohol for every table at a restaurant and bar in Cape Town and racked up a bill of over R200 000.
A social media user with the handle @uYesuKrestu shared the shocking bill on Twitter.
The receipt showed that the man, only known as Sabelo, spent more than R200 000 at The Milk Restaurant and Champagne Bar in Khayelitsha primarily on wine and food.

Here is a breakdown of some of what he ordered:
- 29 bottles of Hennessy brandy up to R45 000
- 6 Ace Brut bottles up to R54 000
- 10 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne worth R60 000
- 7 Moet Nectar champagne up to R11 200
- 6 Vueve Rich champagne R7 600
The bill got tongues wagging on social media, as many wondered how someone could afford to spend so much money at a lifestyle restaurant and bar.
Others questioned the legitimacy of the bill, notably asking how the business could possibly afford to carry so many pricey bottles of champagne in the first place.
