Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on Monday visited the recently crowned Zulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini at his palace in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
The party’s secretary general Marshall Dlamini led the delegation, with an aim to pay homage and respects to the newly crowned monarch.
“The Zulu nation occupies a place of significance in the history of the continent, as a nation that defied colonial conquest, and waged commendable struggles against forces of colonialism in defence of our land. The EFF paid homage to this rich history,” said the EFF.
Misuzulu, 47, ascended to the throne once held by his late father, Goodwill Zwelithini, during traditional ceremonies that were partially overshadowed by a bitter succession dispute.

The coronation took place in the kraal built by his regiments KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma.
According to Times Live, the leader of the red berets, Julius Malema, last week said he recognised Misuzulu as the rightful heir to the Zulu throne.
“Iyodwa vo inkosi esiyaziyo [There’s only one king we recognise], Isilo uMisuzulu KaZwelithini. He’s our only king; the rest is noises of scavengers and hyenas. Wena weNdlovu! Bayede! Bayede! Bayede.”

“Those who are calling press conferences in Fourways must know that there is no king in Fourways. They will be kings (only) in Fourways. They, too, know that there is one king and there is one certificate,” the report quoted Malema as saying.
Malema had a cordial relationship with the late King Goodwill Zwelithini, said EWN
“Our King Misuzulu, must not even doubt himself; we are there we are going to support him. We are going to make sure that he is not undermined by these scavengers,” Malema said, according to the report, adding that the AmaZulu royalty needed to be protected.
