Cape Town – One of the two rhinos that escaped from the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP) in KwaZulu-Natal earlier last week was reportedly found on Sunday.
According to Times Live, two white rhinos escaped from the park earlier last week. The first rhino was found a day after it escaped, but the second one mysteriously vanished.
Individuals walking along the park’s fence on Sunday spotted the second rhino and alerted Ezemvelo Wildlife.
A chopper was dispatched to monitor the area, according to a report by IOL.

“As it was flying above the fence not far from the Cengeni Gate a rhino was spotted just outside the fence. Ezemvelo Game Capture Unit was deployed and the rhino was recaptured and released inside the HiP without any difficulties,” said Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife spokesperson Musa Mntambo as quoted by the report.
The rhino only had bruises, which could have been caused by falling.
