Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, has reportedly said that his party plans to approach all political parties in parliament, with an aim to work towards a motion of no confidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Malema said this during a media briefing at the EFF headquarters in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, on Thursday.
He reportedly said they would even work with the ruling ANC itself to force Ramaphosa to step down, reports said.
The red berets leader alleged that since president Ramaphosa’s leadership, the country had been in “crisis after crisis”, with the quality of the lives and livelihoods for millions of people deteriorating, reported The Citizen.

Malema said this would not be an ordinary motion of no confidence.
“We will approach the Courts of South Africa to compel Parliament to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation of all the crimes committed by Cyril Ramaphosa, with the aim of building a solid case for an impeachment,
“We will write a formal communique to the ANC and ask them to stand with us on this matter. The president is held by a faction, your Ronald Lamolas, that feels that they will become collateral damage when he leaves,” the report quoted Malema as saying.

The EFF’s Commander in Chief also called for Ramaphosa to account for the undeclared millions of US dollar allegedly stolen from his Phala Phala farm during burglary in 2020, reported EWN.
He said that his failure to respect the rule will have consequences, asking who will respect the rule of law if a sitting head of state did not, the report said.
“We refuse to turn a blind eye against crimes committed by Cyril Ramaphosa. He is not above the law, and he will never be above the law,” the report quoted Malema as saying.
