Cape Town – An illegal drag race in Rustenburg, North West left 15 people injured on Sunday afternoon.
ER24 said in a statement that its members responded to the calls of the incident in Zendling Road at around 17:10.
On arrival, ER24 medics found two vehicles that had allegedly been racing each other collided with a third vehicle and veered into a crowd of spectators.
“Medics assessed the patients and found that fifteen people had sustained injuries, ranging from minor to critical. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.

“The patients were treated and provided with advanced life support before various services transported them to nearby hospitals,” said the statement.
The incident’s specifics were unknown.
Police were on the scene to conduct an investigation.
A case of negligent and reckless driving was opened, News24 reported.
