Cape Town – South African actress Busisiwe Lurayi, 35, has died.
Her agency, Eye Media Artists, confirmed the news on social media with a family statement.
The family said that Busisiwe passed away on Sunday at her residence.
Her cause of death is still unknown.
“We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi. Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday 10.07.2022 by medical personnel. The reason for her death is still unknown as we await the results of the autopsy report,” reads the statement.
The family further asked for privacy “during this time”.

According to Times Live, Busisiwe was best known for her starring role as Phumzile on the SABC1 sitcom City Ses’la ( 2005-2006 and again in 2010) and its spin-off series Ses’Top La.
