Cape Town – A 26-year-old football player from KwaZulu-Natal, Anele Gasa, reportedly died on Thursday afternoon during a football match.
Reports indicated that Gasa was a member of the Durban local football team TP United.
He was playing a match in Trenance Park on that particular day.
“Gasa collapsed on a soccer field during a match in Trenance Park… He was loaded into the back seat of a blue Renault Clio and rushed to the Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) base for medical assistance,” The Witness quoted Rusa spokesperson Pram Balram as saying.

Rusa said in a statement issued via its official Facebook page that the paramedics were unable to help Gasa because there were no signs of life detected.
