Cape Town – High-tech robots have reportedly been brought in to help find the six-year-old boy who has been missing for days after falling into a manhole in Soweto Johannesburg.
Reports said that Khayalethu Magadla was playing with his friends in Dlamini Park in Soweto when he fell into the open hole.
Since Monday, community members and the Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) have made numerous attempts to find the boy with no luck.
Sunday World reported that EMS team’s search operation combed the area where Khayalethu went missing but the boy hasn’t been found.

“Our technicians went underground to check on the line, whether they might find something or not, and we didn’t find the boy,” the report quoted EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudziat as saying at the time.
“We moved to Eldorado Park where our Joburg Water colleagues are assisting to clear one of the pipes, so we can be able to check on it,” Mulaudzi said.
As a last resort and in an effort to help the family find closure, EMS has resorted to the use of technology, IOL reported.
“So we are introducing this technology to the operation and also while that process of cleaning up is under way, hoping that one way or the other we will be able to locate young Khayalethu,” the report quoted Mulaudzi.
