Harare – Dave Houghton replaced Lalchand Rajput as Zimbabwe coach on Tuesday following poor results, including six one-day and Twenty20 losses at home to Afghanistan this month, a national cricket board statement said.
Former captain Houghton takes over ahead of an eight-nation T20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe in July, while Rajput becomes technical director.

Former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener will team up with Houghton as batting coach.
“We are delighted to bring in Dave and count ourselves fortunate and privileged to appoint such an experienced and respected head coach at a time when we are looking to improve our performances,” said Zimbabwe Cricket director Hamilton Masakadza.
