Cape Town – A passenger in a truck was reportedly shot and injured during an alleged robbery at a pharmacy in Melville, Gauteng on Monday.
According to IOL, eight gunmen pretended to be customers and entered May’s Pharmacy.
They robbed the store’s employees and customers of their cellphones and an undisclosed sum of money.
The gunmen were travelling in a white Toyota Quantum.
A report by Sowetan Live said that on their way out of the phamarcy, they encountered a reaction officer from another company, and a shoot-out ensued.

“A passenger of a truck that was passing by was hit by a stray bullet and rushed to the nearest hospital,” the report quoted police spokesperson Lieutenant- Colonel Mavela Masondo as saying.
No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident.
Police have asked anyone with information that could aid in the investigation or in apprehending the suspects to contact the nearest police station.
