Cape Town – South African sprinter Wayde van Niekerk has taken some time off the track to relax with his family in Italy before the World Athletics Championships begin in July in Oregon, United States.
Wayde took to Instagram to share photos of himself, his wife Chesney, and their first-born baby Elijah vacationing in Gemona del Friuli, Italy.
“Great to be back in Italy, Gemona del friuli with my family and team. Perfect place to appreciate the beauty of nature, but also the world class facility to recover and gain back my fitness before World Champions. Next few weeks will be extremely important… Trusting in God’s timing and not my own,” wrote Wayde.
