Cape Town – Amos Mbongeleni, 41, was reportedly granted R3 000 bail by the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal after he shot and killed Sbusiso Ndaba, 51, inside a restaurant at the Christians Village Shopping Centre on Friday.
According to IOL, Ndaba was sitting inside the Mugg & Bean restaurant when Mbongeleni entered and joined him.
An argument reportedly ensued between the two, resulting in Mbongeleni pulling a firearm and shooting Ndaba to death.
“He (Ndaba) sustained gunshot wounds to the head and was declared dead at the scene,” the report quoted police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala as saying.

Mbongeleni fled the scene but later turned himself in at the Hillcrest police station.
Christian Village Shopping Centre also confirmed the incident, according to The Witness.
“Christians Village Shopping Centre can confirm that a man was shot dead by a customer sitting at his table at Mugg & Bean this morning (on Friday). The suspect has been taken in by SAPS Hillcrest…,” the report quoted the Christian Village Shopping Centre as saying.
In a separate report, IOL revealed on Wednesday that Mbongeleni appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court this week where he was released on R3 000 bail.
“The matter was adjourned to 14 July for further investigations,” the report quoted National Prosecuting Authority provincial spokesperson Natasha Kara as saying.
