Cape Town – A 40-year-old man was reportedly beaten to death in Manthe Village, North West, after he allegedly stole money from two tavern owners.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred on Friday when Thabiso Mothibedi was allegedly chained to a generator and assaulted.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was at Lenganeng Village when the suspects fetched and transported him to Manthe Village where he was, upon arrival, chained to a generator and allegedly assaulted.

“After the assault, the victim was reportedly transported to Manthe Clinic where he was certified dead on arrival,” News24 quoted police spokesperson Captain Sam Tselanyane as saying.
Mothibedi was accused of R20 000 from two tavern owners.
IOL reported that two suspects, aged 23 and 31, were arrested for murder following the incident, and were expected to appear in the Taung Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
More arrests were expected and additional charges could be added the charges, the report said.
