Expansion of the airport at Dodoma – Tanzania’s designated new capital city – has tripled the number of aircraft landing daily.
The airport – with its new extension work, including a 2.5 km runway and a 500m lighting area – is now able to accommodate up to 10 flights from various countries around the world every day, while also seeing aircrafts with a capacity of between 70 and 90 passengers land and take off.
According to a Tanzania Daily News report, the airport is now also able to offer passengers (who, for a long time, had been complaining about escalating ticket prices to and from Dodoma) lower airfares.
