Cape Town – Multiple award-winning Kwaito legend, Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini has been making rounds on social media after claims that businesswoman Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize had allegedly donated R1 million into his personal bank account.
According to TimesLive, his personal assistant, Siki Kunene has issued a statement refuting the claims.
“Zola has not received any millions or R1million from any funder, as widely alleged. He continues to receive multiple donations from Africans who responded to the call since the account number was published.
“To MaMkhize, you are one of a kind and we hope you are not discouraged by incorrect reporting to assist where you can. You have given Zola love, hope and joy. That is a blessing on its own,” the report quoted Siki as saying.
MaMkhize recently lended a helping hand to the kwaito legend by inviting him to her home in Sandton, Johannesburg, and they shared casual banter.
MaMkhize pleaded with her social media followers to stretch out a helping hand as Zola “is an unsung hero and has been a catalyst for change in our society for many years”.
“Guys, I just want to encourage all of us to do the right thing especially when it comes to one of our own. Zola is an unsung hero who has been a catalyst for change in our society for many years. Let’s not turn a blind eye,” said MamKhize.

Zola recently took to Facebook to share his banking details after much pleas from the public asking to assist the ailing artist.
“I’ve received hundreds of texts asking for my banking details. I see I’m trending on Twitter and plenty of people are offering financial assistance as gratitude. I’ve never expected anything in return for the help I’ve given people in need but this is truly humbling.
“Initially I rejected this notion ngoba I’m a proud nguni man kodwa futhi kuthiwa ungabo jikisa isipho osphiwa sona. Ngakho, ngiyabonga Guluva Nation. I can’t respond to all of you kodwa here are the banking details eniwacelile,” he posted.
