Cape Town – South African media personality Dineo Ranaka recently topped the Twitter charts after she reportedly got suspended from Metro FM for misconduct.

This came after she took to social media to post a video of herself dancing to the amapiano hit Umlando by Sir Trill, Lady Du and Slade at the Metro FM studios.

Dineo was taking part in the #UmlandoChallenge, a dance challenge that requires participants to shake their hips from side to side and up and down in the most unexpected and creative places, according to The Citizen.

In the video, Dineo can be seen dancing on top of a table and chair showing off her dance moves in the studio.

Following the viral video, her fans noticed on Tuesday morning that she was absent from her show The Bridge, which airs between 9:00 and 12:00 on weekdays.

This sparked a flurry of speculations, with many claiming that she had been suspended.

According to The South African, the SABC’s group executive for corporate affairs, Gugu Ntuli said the radio station “does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public”.

“The SABC can confirm that Dineo Ranaka is not scheduled on Metro FM at this stage and as a matter of principle, the corporation does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public,” the report quoted Gugu as saying.

Twitter weighed in on Dineo’s alleged suspension, with some defending her and others advising her to respect office spaces.
