Cape Town – American rapper and producer Andre Romelle Young, popularly known as Dr Dre, has reached a divorce settlement of $100 million (R1.5billion) with his ex-wife Nicole.
According to Sky News, the couple was married for nearly 24 years.
They got married in 1996 under a prenuptial agreement to which Nicole later contested, saying it was signed under duress.
They share two children: son Truice, 24, and daughter Truly, 20.
Nicole initially filed for divorce in 2020, claiming she had been abused by Dr Dre and as a result, had suffered “post-traumatic stress syndrome”.
It took 18 months to conclude the settlement.

According to TMZ, Nicole will get her settlement in two tranches of $50 million each.
She will also walk away with all her jewellery and four cars.
Meanwhile, Dre gets to keep the bulk of his wealth, including six vehicles and seven properties, that include the Malibu home which Nicole was ordered to vacate.
Speaking to TMZ, a source said that should Nicole have settled earlier, she would’ve walked out of the marriage with a bigger share.
