Cape Town – South African media personality and Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi has spoken out for the first time about her departure from Kaya FM.
Last week Nkayi had her contract terminated by Kaya 959, following “certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward”.

Quoting a source, TshisaLIVE, said that the “certain incidents” alluded to by the station referred to Unathi having accused former friend and Kaya Drive host Sizwe Dhlomo of verbal abuse.
The cause for her dismissal was also recently exposed in a City Press report, which Dlomo confirmed on his Twitter page.
it also delegitimises the claims of thousands of victims whose cases fall apart because of lack of evidence. Such an egregious lie is a highly irresponsible thing to do!

Now Unathi has taken aim at Sizwe and Kaya 959.
The media personality resorted to Instagram to share a video explaining her side of the story.
She said that she had been silenced by the radio station and that she never accused Sizwe of any gender-based violence (GBV) act.
“I’ve been silenced by Kaya. I have received a letter that I may not speak on the matter publicly because of my contractual agreement we all have as freelancers. I was specifically told that I cannot use my platform to share my version of events.

“This all started when Sizwe made reference to GBV in South Africa in one of his many posts about me, but GBV had nothing to do with the matter, I never alleged at any time that Sizwe committed any act of gender-based violence against me, Sizwe knows this, Kaya 959 knows this,” Nkayi said in and Instagram video.
