Cape Town – South African social media influencer and aspiring actress Lonalinamandla Bawuti has reportedly raised more than R80 000 for an underprivileged young boy from the Eastern Cape to attend initiation school in December.
According to Sunday World, a Facebook direct message intended for someone else ended up in Bawuti’s inbox, and she took it upon herself to make the boy’s desire come true.
She launched Umgidi ka Boy, a Facebook fundraising drive, and asked her thousands of fans to donate as little as R10.

The young boy’s identity remains unknown.
According to IOL, Bawuti is not new to the scene of giving back.
The influencer has been using her Facebook page to assist people to get employment, find funding and assist Gofundme initiatives for those in need.
