Cape Town – The African National Congress (ANC) candidate Mpho Moerane has been sworn in as the new mayor of the City of Johannesburg, following the death of Jolidee Matongo, who died in a car accident earlier this month.
The event took place on Friday.

Moerane served as a member of the mayoral committee for environment and infrastructure services under Matongo’s administration as well as during the tenure of former mayor Geoff Makhubo, who succumbed to Covid-19 in July this year.
